Wayfinding Signage

In 2013 we were the successful tenderer for the Legible Cities framework for Southampton and Hampshire. Working in conjunction with Atkins, the project involved the manufacture and installation of legible city wayfinding signage across towns in Hampshire. Signage included arrival and navigation totems, route marker signs and also bespoke signage panels. To date we have installed 100 totem units and 40 route markers, with more sign and totem installations to come before the end of the contract.

Deliverables

The products were designed and manufactured from concept drawings with a brief to provide high quality signs with mapping information reverse cut and applied to the low iron glass, providing optically clear appearance. We produced prototype units for customer approval and every site was surveyed in order for us to prepare a method statement for each individual location. The installation process was such that foundations were installed and left blanked off to allow footways to remain open and leave pedestrian flow unhindered. The signs were then installed and signed off on an individual basis by the client.
